On your first day you will meet your employer (if you haven’t already) and the team you will be working with, and you will be given a thorough induction to your new place of work.   OSCE training is the last step of your NMC registration. The OSCE exam can only be taken in the UK and is sponsored by your UK employer.  The OSCE will assess your knowledge and clinical skills as well as your ability to deal with healthcare scenarios that nurses and midwives are likely to encounter when delivering care to patients in the UK.

You will have three attempts to pass your OSCE exam. In the very unlikely event of you failing OSCE three times, you will need to return to your home country and start the process again.  You will receive your results within 5 days, and once you have successfully passed will receive your NMC PIN which will enable you to practice as a nurse in the UK.
