Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine
Hours: Full time - 10 sessions per week
Contract: 12 months - view to extend
Location: Sussex
Salary: £52, 530 - £82,400 per annum

Key responsibilities for the Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine role:
- Primary management of patients attending the department and for supervising and assisting the more junior grades of doctor.
- Ensure all patients admitted to the observation beds have an appropriate diagnosis, and they may be required to assist the consultant with morning review of these patients.
- Lead the trauma team and assist the cardiac arrest team.
- Review the x-ray reports and arrange appropriate follow up patients with missed fractures.
- Take an active role in the departmental teaching programme for the junior grades.
- Participate in departmental audits and an active role in the trauma call audit.
Minimum requirements for the Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine role is:
- Full registration with GMC.
- Completed at least 4 years full-time postgraduate training or equivalent.
- ALS & ATLS.
- MRCEM (desirable).
